From animal control to community services, we're here with a smile and a mission — keeping Lake Charles safe, clean, and caring, one day at a time.
What We Do
We provide a wide range of public works and animal care services designed to keep Lake Charles thriving — because every detail matters.
Responsible and compassionate animal enforcement — responding to stray reports, bite investigations, and wildlife concerns across Calcasieu Parish.
Road maintenance, drainage, and infrastructure projects that keep our streets safe and our community running smoothly every single day.
Public protection initiatives, emergency coordination, and neighborhood outreach programs that build trust and resilience in Lake Charles.
Dog licensing, business permits, and regulatory compliance — handled with patience, clarity, and a genuine desire to help you get it right.
Workshops, outreach events, and resource guides on responsible pet ownership, storm preparedness, and community well-being.
A friendly, no-judgment line for residents who need help — whether it's a question, a concern, or a request for guidance, we're here.

About CPPJ
CPPJ Public Works and Animal Control Complex isn't just a government office. We're a team of everyday people who care deeply about Lake Charles and the people who call it home. Whether it's reuniting a lost pet with its family, fixing a pothole before rush hour, or simply lending an ear to a concerned resident — that's the work we show up for.
Our commitment is simple: treat every person and every animal with dignity, respond with urgency when it counts, and never forget that behind every call is a neighbor who needs help.
